Ways To Be Careful When Driving In The Rain

By: Aydan Corkern

Have you ever noticed that when you drive and it is raining outside, your car or truck slides a bit? This is because the water makes it slippery and can be dangerous if you drive too fast. It can make your tires spin when you stop or go, so you have to be very careful when you are behind someone. That is why they put out signs that say "Slippery when wet" so they can warn you and let you know to be more aware and cautious when it is wet. If there is too much water on the road, it can make you swerve and make you hydroplane and can go off the road. It can make your car feel funny when you are driving, and it can your brakes really touchy when you try to slow down or stop.

You need to have good tires that have good traction on them so you can stop better in water and on ice. If it is cold outside and it has been raining, there will be water on the road, which can freeze and turn to ice if the weather is cold enough, making it dangerous to be on the road. Ice can make you have an accident and fly off the road. Ice can look black or clear depending on whether gravel or concrete is used and what color it is.

It is not a good idea to drive if it is this way because you can get hurt or killed if the ice causes the car to slip. It is why they put ice melt on the road. It melts the ice so you can drive, but you still have to be very careful because it still might be dangerous for you and others.

When it is raining it can make it hard to see out your window, and you have to pull over and get off the road because you may run off it. You need to have good window wipes for you to see out of the window and so you won't get into an accident.

You need to make sure the motor is running right and well so it does not freeze up on you when it is raining. If it is coming down too hard, then you don't need to be out in it. You need to stay home or get somewhere safe until it calms down, and you can get out of it. Try not to get behind a big truck when it is raining because it will make it worse depending on how bad it is.
